Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards

No offense to anyone (who am I kidding) – but to be blunt – screw the Oscars. Screw the Academy Awards. Screw the Grammys. Best award of all time? The Rondo.

That’s right! It’s that time of the year again!

If you’re not hip to the Rondo’s, here’s the run down. The Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards have been presented each year since 2003 by the Classic Horror Film Board to honor all things horror – television, film, art, blogging, etc.

These awards rely on votes of the public – so it’s the epitome of “readers choice“. The physical award is an homage to the Creeper – played by Rondo Hatton in the 1946 House of Horrors (a Universal Classic).

Big names this year include Piranha 3D, Let Me In, The Wolfman, The Walking Dead, True Blood, King Kong, Metropolis, The Art of Hammer, Ingrid Pitt, Famous Monsters of Filmland, Rue Morgue, Cinema Suicide, Spooky Empire, Monster-Mania, and many more.

So do horror a favor and go cast your vote here.

About Meg

Blond, bold and brainy. Already scared aren’tcha? When Meg’s not book learnin’ or arguing the anatomy of zombies – shes probably in the ocean, watching star trek, or forcing everyone around her to endure horror moviethons. Bruce Campbell? Her personal demi-God. Costuming, comics, charity work, college and a kidlet take up most of her time. But seriously, who needs sleep when you’re training the future generation of nerd? With great power comes great responsibility…..or something.
