Ever since Sam Raimi officially announced that the Evil Dead remake was happening – I have been reeling in anticipation (read: obsessively searching for) any sort of news about what Raimi and director Federico Alvarez plan to do with one of my favorite horror films of all time.
And? Thanks to Movie Hole, all Evil Dead heads now have a closer look at some of the characters we can expect to see in the film.
According to Movie Hole -
AshDavid – The hero, sibling to Mia, married to the hot chick.Mia – David’s sister, reeling over the death of her and David’s mother, and trying to kick her drug habit.
Eric – David’s friend, cocky as all hell.
Plot - The siblings, lovers, and friends head out to that infamous cabin in the woods when a huge storm forces them indoors. Eric finds the Necronomicon and proceeds to encourage the reading of passages from it (thanks a lot, jerkface). Then? Mia begins to lose her shit. They all just assume it’s a throwback of her weaning off the junk – especially when she claims trees are attacking her – but needless to say? It doesn’t take the group long to realize there is something in the woods.
It also seems that this Evil Dead will stray away as much as possible from the camp and humor found in the original trilogy (mostly Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness), and focus more on the gore and the terror. Sweet.
So fellow Evil Dead heads – what do you think? Personally, I was elated when they announced Ash would not be a character in the film. There’s nothing wrong with a new anti-hero for a new generation. I’ve been rather hesitant about how this reboot of the series would turn out, considering I prefer it never have happened in the first place – but so far? I’m pleased. New characters. New terrors. More horror.

Bruce Campbell is a talented actor, but he’s too old for the physical stunts and comedy that Ash requires.
I’d like to see an animated Evil Dead. Either CG or traditional cells. Let Bruce be the voice of Ash for a new generation.
i would love to see a animated spin off of the Evil Dead story lol
why even call it Evil Dead if its not going to try and be a remake at all? make something like Drag Me To Hell, now that was a good funny horror movie.
