Most of you know Spooky Empire is Gores Truly’s home away from home – our favorite haunt – a local Orlando Horror convention that we all love to frequent each year. However, last Spooky it was announced that the Wyndham where the convention has been held for years was being torn down.
What was to happen to our beloved Spooky Empire?
No worries – Petey and Gina released the new details last night about Spooky’s new location – and you can say we’re more excited than ever.
It’s been a very busy few months for us here at Spooky Empire. Now that everything is finally coming together, we thought we’d reach out to all of you with some updates and exciting news!
We won’t keep you all waiting anymore… here’s the news you’ve all been waiting for. For those of you that didn’t know about this, it will be new news for you! Most of you have heard by now the rumor about the Wyndham being sold and possibly torn down. Well, it’s partially true. The Wyndham is being sold, but the fate of the hotel and land itself is up in the air. It’s rumored to be anything from a remodeled resort to a Target shopping center. While we love the Wyndham more than anything (it’s become our home away from home), we just can’t wait and see what will happen. We had to make a decision for the good of the business and the fans. So for the last few months, Gina and I have searched and searched… and searched for the perfect venue. A place that we can grow into and have a good relationship with and a place that all of you will love to stay. It will definitely be a change for everyone, but ultimately a change for the better.
So the new home for Spooky Empire starting October 2012, will be the… The Hilton Orlando!!! The Hilton has a ton of amenities (too many to list), plus an amazing convention area. After a lot of bargaining, we were able to still get you guys the $99 rate as well! Here’s a link to the Hilton site, you can check it out for yourself!

Because we had to book the hotel less than a year in advance, we were not able to get our regular weekend in October. The dates for 2012 will be October 26-28th! The following years starting in 2013, we will permanently be the 3rd weekend in October. The dates for May-Hem will always be the same, Memorial Day Weekend.
Now that we’ve made that announcement… let’s talk about May-Hem! We’ve finally started to update the site and we’ve got some guests confirming as we speak! It’s looking to be a great line-up with tons of new guests!
Rooms are available for only $69… so be sure to reserve yours now. They’ll go quick at that rate. VIP packages are also available, as well as advance tickets. This is a show you won’t want to miss! It’s our last event at the Wyndham, so let’s make it one to remember!!
