Jesus – the “original” recorded zombie (albeit debatable depending on how you classify Lazarus…). Whether you love him, hate him, indifferent, just don’t believe he existed, or take great offense that people call Jesus a zombie… he’s inspired throngs of people in various ways. Where you find Zombie Jesus, you’re bound to find some controversy. And art. And controversial art. Which is why the upcoming group exhibition, “The Original Zombie,” in Williamsburg Brooklyn, NY will be something exciting to check out.
Just In Time For Easter… “The Original Zombie” Group Art Show to be Featured at Eight of Swords Tattoo in Brooklyn.The Eight of Swords Art Gallery in Williamsburg Brooklyn will present a group artist exhibition of Zombie-themed works entitled, “The Original Zombie.” The exhibition will open on April 5th and continue through May 11th, 2012.
An opening reception will be held at the gallery on April 5th from 7pm to 11pm. This is a unique opportunity to view original works by several local and national tattoo artists, photographers, graphic artists and fine artists.These works are being displayed during the Easter holiday to intentionally coincide with our tongue in cheek “celebration” of Jesus Christ’s Biblical rise from the dead, therefore he was the “Original Zombie”.
