Release: October 14, 2012
Starring: Andrew Lincoln, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, and introducing Danai Gurira as comic-fan-favorite “Michonne”
Plot: Rick Grimes and his band of zombie-battle-weary survivors enter the next chapter of their lives – one which brings them to the Prison, the Governor, and Woodbury.
Thoughts: The trailer seems to hint at another large veer away from the comic storyline – with Michonne and Andrea separated from the group, and “held” in the nearby, seemingly-idyllic town of Woodbury. A change-up that’s fine and dandy by me… as long as they stay true to the foundations of these stories. Either way, it certainly looks dread-filled and action-packed. Ok, fine…. I admit it… I’m just crazy-happy about the appearance of Michonne and hope that she’s treated with the dignity and respect that the character deserves (The jury’s still out on Meryl’s new “boomstick” appendage).

They fucked up the casting of the Governor. Instead of a ruthless tyrant the likes of Danny Trejo, we get Captain Generic.
From the interviews, that’s the idea – they apparently felt that the stereotypical “evil” look of The Governor from the comics was too much. They wanted him to look like any normal guy… with the idea that it will be more shocking when he does the horrible things that he does.
I guess i can see the point, but i’m waiting to see if their concept pans out.
I do love the actress they picked for Michonne tho. She’s kinda perfect!
