After the very, VERY open ending to this summer’s Prometheus, there was bound to be speculation on a sequel. Will there be one? When will it happen? Will we get to follow Shaw and her morally questionable android buddy David on their adventures through space?!
It appears we can answer at least one of the nine billion questions Prometheus has left us with….
YES!
The Hollywood Reporter and MSN Entertainment have confirmed that both Ridley Scott and 20th Century Fox are pushing forward on a sequel. Both Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are signed for whatever sequel there may be (here’s where I do a happy dance)… buuuut there is speculation on writer Damon Lindelof’s return. Some have said there is a scheduling issue with his availability and others have said his story was a bit too… questiony therefore, they may want someone new.
Personally, I liked it that way. I liked filling in my own blanks and not being force fed my own perceptions by having everything spelled out for me. But in the end, this project will most likely be on a slow burn…
“Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can’t rush it,” says Fox president of production, Emma Watts.
We shall see Ms. Watts… We. Shall. See.

I want Damon back. I don’t care what the little, must-have-everything-spelled-out twerps want – i like my mythology vast and occasionally (seemingly) incomprehensible.
Also? I think THIS may have thrilled me more than the Hobbit Trilogy news. #justsayin
