A teaser trailer of the upcoming 2013 Evil Dead remake has been shown at New York Comic Con and the internet is exploding with details.
- Expect gore. Lots and lots of gore.
- The Cabin – Old, dirty, and a perfect homage to the original.
- The Necronomicon – Just as evil as ever.
- Raping Tree – Back with vengeance.
- CGI? Hardly. Sam Raimi and Fede Alvarez wanted to do this similar to the original as much as possible. And we approve.
- Point of View style still applies.
- A girl is seen taking a turkey carver to her arm – and a chainsaw sound is heard.
And according to Bruce Campbell:
“Your shit will be just as freaked as it is in this movie, as it was in the original. And if you need me to crown her [Levy] the next official Ash, I will put that crown on her myself!“
That’s pretty big praise for actress Jane Levy who plays Mia, a young woman struggling with sobriety – and what appears to us is a confirmation that the new “Ash” may not be a dude after all.

Synopsis: In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.
