Plot: Toward the end of World War II, Russian soldiers pushing into eastern Germany stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary Frankenstein’s work to assemble an army of super-soldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades — a desperate Hitler’s last ghastly ploy to escape defeat.
Thoughts: I haven’t been this excited for a ridiculous WWII horror flick since Iron Sky. However, the fundamental difference between Iron Sky and this? It’s attempt to be more period accurate as well as the obvious grind house gritty film style and abundance of gore. Just like any good war movie should be. From what I can see in the red band trailer, we are in for an incredible movie with promising acting and special effects. And of course – the potential for quiet a few laughs too. Looking forward to reviewing this one.
