Rob Zombie Auctions Off Custom Truck for a Charitable Cause

The Gores Truly MurderHers love charitable causes. And it warms our black hearts when individuals and organizations who share similar interests in the darker genre are into generously giving back to the world as well. We love furry and fuzzy animals and understand others who seek out their companionship.  So when our friend, Audrey with Zeno Group, shared news of Rob Zombie’s collaboration with The Puppy Rescue Mission with us, we had to share it with you.

We all know Rob Zombie for being the master of terror but even the heavy metal legend has a soft side when it comes to the bond between man and best friend. Starting tonight, he’ll auction off his custom macabre-style 1967 Ford F-100 truck to benefit non-profit organization The Puppy Rescue Mission (PRM).

PRM enables dogs (and cats) from Afghanistan and other war-zones to live out their lives in the US with the soldiers they befriend. “It was probably the only moment of sanity for these guys, when they spent time with them [the dogs],” explains Rob. “Some of the stories I’ve heard are horrible: people would torture these dogs, and kill them for fun. These guys saved these dogs, and really bonded with them.” Soldiers need only write a letter to PRM, and the community joins together and raises the funds to help get their furry friends home.

About The Puppy Rescue Mission

The primary aim of The Puppy Rescue Mission is to fund-raise and assist in pet rescue, foster and re-homing when needed–in particular, pets of soldiers, especially those deployed in war zones. They assist with requests, logistics, administration and fundraising for the adopted stray dogs of war rescued by and bonded with soldiers. This may include vet care, supplies, transport and related issues. They work with or through other organizations that help our soldiers bring their companion animals home from war.
