Sleepwalkers (2014) Photos and News

Gores Truly LOVES supporting local horror. So we were stoked to hear Ryan Lightbourn (the insane mind behind Roid Rage) was doing another film – and this time? Not about a killer hemorrhoid. Introducing Sleepwalkers. With a crew and cast of less than 10 people, this film focuses on a small group of people and their ability (or inability in some cases) to survive some of the night’s horrors. If we know anything from Ryan’s past short films, it’s that on a very low budget he can make some seriously creepy and wonderful things happen. Looking forward to seeing this when it’s available. Until then, check out some of the sneak preview photos (and press release) below and stay tuned to Gores Truly for the official trailer once it is released.

Official Press Release:

From the mind that first introduced the world to killerhemorrhoids with his decorated short film Roid Rage (screened at over 50 film festivals internationally such as Screamfest LA, Another Hold in the Head, Sacramento Horror Film Fest), Bahamian filmmaker Ryan Lightbourn has just wrapped his first feature length film, SleepwalkersSleepwalkers was completed over the course of only two weeks to accommodate both the most modest of budgets, and a crew that consisted of less than 10 people. In addition, Lightbourn wrote, directed, produced, cast and will be solely responsible for all the post production of the movie (editing, scoring, visual effects, etc.). What Sleepwalkers lacked in resources, it will more than make up for in visual appeal and entertainment. In reference to the short film Roid Rage, Todd Rigney, of said, “Lightbourn is one hell of a director, executing things on his shoestring budget that other filmmakers couldn’t perform with deeper pockets.”

Synopsis; Set in the deepest corners of Florida’s woods, five college students attempt to enjoy a festive spring break getaway when they encounter a deadly, nocturnal presence. As horrific events unfold, the group joins forces with a local convenience store owner & a prison escapee. With night time approaching, they must set aside their differences and use their wits to survive.

The Sleepwalkers cast comprises of a range of actors from veterans to newcomers. Seasoned actors Doo Doo Brown (Detroit 1-8-7, B.E.T.’s ComicView, and P. Diddy Presents the Bad Boys of Comedy), J. Larose (Insidious I & II, Saw III), and former adult film star Dale Dabone (Iron Man XXX, Avengers XXX, Batman XXX) provide for a strong base of talent which are complimented by a blend of talented fresh faces that fill out the remainder of the cast.

Backed by a strong script, a talented cohesive cast, and a dedicated crew, Ryan Lightbourn’s debut feature film promises to impress. With post-production just having commenced, Lightbourn hopes to have Sleepwalkers ready for film festivals next spring. Trailers, additional production stills, and behind the scenes for the film can be expected to appear on the Sleepwalkers website & Facebook page shortly. For any and all additional information about the movie, please visit the website or contact Ryan Lightbourn directly.
