Release: In theaters January 17, 2014
Starring: Allison Miller, Zach Gilford, Steffie Grote
Director: Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett
Writer: Lindsay Devlin
Plot: After a mysterious, lost night on their honeymoon, a newlywed couple finds themselves dealing with an earlier-than-planned pregnancy. While recording everything for posterity, the husband begins to notice odd behavior in his wife that they initially write off to nerves, but as the months pass, it becomes evident that the dark changes to her body and mind have a much more sinister origin.
Thoughts: This almost feels like a remake of Rosemary’s Baby to me, but darker. I like that it’s the husband’s side of the story noticing all the changes to his wife. The found footage style films are still a huge trend in horror movies, yet there’s still a sense of classic horror to this. It’s due in theaters on January 17th and I’m definitely going to have to see this. Also, love ladies writing horror movies. Makes me giddy!
