The Last Showing Teaser Trailer

Since Gores Truly is femme-driven – we’re big advocates for chicks and horror and want to give our XX-chromosome readers a chance to contribute to the horror-fest we adore. The following article by Ash has been Murder-Her approved.

Robert Englund fans, rejoice! The first teaser trailer for The Last Showing, recently acquired by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for distribution in the UK, has been released.

The film follows Stuart (Englund), a projectionist made obsolete by developing technology who refuses to take his ejection from his life’s work lying down. He vows revenge on the new generation of moviegoers and traps a couple inside a multiplex theater to teach them some respect for his indispensable skill set. They must struggle to survive as characters in Stuart’s personal horror movie, captured by CCTVs and pitted against each other in a brutal fight for survival.

The film is directed and written by Phil Hawkins, and features Emily Berrington and Finn Jones as the hapless couple at the mercy of Englund. It is the latest in a series of films—the most familiar to our readers probably being 2013’s Evil Dead—to be shot on the Sony F65 camera, giving it a distinctive high-resolution appearance and filter. It has not yet been given a release date, but is expected sometime in 2015.

About the Author: A devoted disciple of Stephen King and Wes Craven, Ash loves psychological and meta-horror, slashers, and the supernatural, but can find something to enjoy in almost anything that is dark and dreary. While not at her day job or writing, she spends her time swinging around heavy weights, eating whole pans of cookie bars, and petting her handsome doggy, Baxter. She would also like you to know that despite her red hair, she most certainly, definitely has a soul. Really.
