Trailer: The Mill at Calder’s End

Director/Writer: Kevin McTurk, Creature Effects Artist and Puppeteer on JURASSIC PARK 1,2,&3, KING KONG, HELLBOY 1&2

Music: The Parlour Trick

Thoughts: Backed by fans on Kickstarter – check out this beautifully haunting trailer for The Mill At Calder’s End from Kevin McTurk, a Gothic puppet film (think Labyrinth meets Poe meets H.P. Lovecraft). Utilizing a style of puppetry called bunraku and avoiding computer generated effects in lieu practical effects – The Mill at Calder’s End looks to be one of this year’s most beautifully haunting films and breathes new air into the dying industry of puppetry. Check out the trailer above and let us know if you’re looking forward to watching this as much as we are.

About Meg

Blond, bold and brainy. Already scared aren’tcha? When Meg’s not book learnin’ or arguing the anatomy of zombies – shes probably in the ocean, watching star trek, or forcing everyone around her to endure horror moviethons. Bruce Campbell? Her personal demi-God. Costuming, comics, charity work, college and a kidlet take up most of her time. But seriously, who needs sleep when you’re training the future generation of nerd? With great power comes great responsibility…..or something.
