Kitschy 80’s horror, divine retribution in the form of horrific violence, and the tagline “Blood. Death. Mayhem. Welcome to summer camp!” Needless to say you can count me in. Slashermania is a new brain child of Russell Hillman which will be published by Freaktown Comics pending a successful crowd funding campaign.

Slashermania is written by Russell Hillman, with pencils by Ron Joseph, inks by Jake Isenberg, Colours by Harry Saxon and letters by Sergio Calvet
Check out the prologue available online via creator Russell Hillman’s blog – it looks just as promising as the Kickstarter description claims. The artwork is very sharp and I have nothing but good things to say about the premise. It looks like quite a bit of fun!
Although there are obvious references to horror both past and contemporary (I think that the host looks like a mix from Friday the 13th Part 2 and The Town that Dreaded Sundown, and I can’t look at ‘The March Hare’ without thinking of The Bunnyman Massacre), it is obvious that the graphic novel will be putting its own unique flair on the slasher genre and horror comics at large (assuming, of course, that it gets funded). If you find this project as promising as I do, feel free to pop on over to their Kickstarter page and support the campaign! They only have until Saturday November 29 at 6:30pm EST to raise £13,000 ( that’s $20,749.49 USD).
