Trailer: It Follows (2015)

Director: David Robert Mitchell

Cast: Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist, Daniel Zovatto, Jake Weary, Olivia Luccardi, Lili Sepe

Plot: For 19-year-old Jay (Maika Monroe, THE GUEST), the fall should be about school, boys and weekends at the lake. Yet after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter she suddenly finds herself plagued by nightmarish visions; she can’t shake the sensation that someone, or something, is following her.  As the threat closes in, Jay and her friends must somehow escape the horrors that are only a few steps behind.

Thoughts: A critically acclaimed film that acknowledges many horror films that came before it while also utilizing some familiar horror tropes and cliches – and created by a Florida State University alum? It Follows is a flick I’m definitely going to check out. It looks like some horror film we’re all familiar with but which one exactly is a bit harder to pinpoint. I hope this film is the conversation-starter that various articles and interviews are leading me to believe. It comes out today – have you already seen it or do you plan on seeing it? Let us know!
