‘Ween Dream – Bringing Halloween to Those in Need

It should go without saying that all of the Gores Truly MurderHers are big fans of Halloween. From Meg’s costume obsession to our posts about crafts and pet costumes, it’s safe to say we’re a little obsessed with all things spooky. (Even if they aren’t necessarily horror.) That was why, when I read about ‘Ween Dream, I knew I needed to share the details with you all!

‘WEEN DREAM is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit that gives free Halloween costumes to children in need. They collect new and gently used costumes throughout the year and distribute them around Halloween time to children in need across the United States. Donators, supporters, and children assisted are located all across the country. Their definition of ‘in need’ includes those living in poverty, with serious medical issues or special needs, with mental and/or physical disabilities, and who have recently experienced a traumatic event (such as a natural disaster).

Since the organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. If you would like more information on how to get involved with their organization via donation of a new or gently used costume, monetary donation via check or Paypal, or would like to see what supplies are on their Amazon Wishlist you can find all of those details on their ‘How to Help‘ page. The organization sent out 580 costumes in 2014 and anticipates sending out over 1,000 this year, so any help is appreciated! (If nothing else, hopefully this gives you an idea of what to do with your gently used costumes once this season is over!)

About Fox

Warning! In addition to suspense filled brain teasers Fox enjoys things that are terrible and knows it! She adores B movies and campy would-be thrillers that make most viewers groan. (Heckling is a favored pastime.) When she isn't seeking out spooky comedic gold or mind twisting plots, she can be found at her desk job, writing, or playing with tiny dogs. She's currently working on a horror anthology, details http://bit.ly/swp-01
